Cargo Manager Recruitment – Damascus
Emirates SkyCargo is hiring aCargo Manager in Damascus. This role is designed for experienced professionals who can manage cargo operations, boost sales, and ensure excellent service standards. Job Purpose
- The main objective of the Cargo Manager is to:
- Promote Emirates SkyCargo services in the local market.
- Maximize revenue, tonnage, and overall profitability.
- Supervise export and import operations within Syria.
- Maintain high service and safety standards in compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cargo staff in line with company regulations and local laws.
- Plan and implement sales strategies to achieve targets in revenue, tonnage, and yield.
- Build strong relationships with customers, agents, and key partners in the cargo industry.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure long-term business opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing, and provide timely reports to head office.
- Ensure agents and customers are well-informed about Emirates SkyCargo services, including digital platforms and special handling solutions.
- Coordinate with handling agents, airport authorities, and suppliers to optimize cargo capacity and ensure operational efficiency.
- Guarantee compliance with safety standards, company policies, and international cargo regulations.
- Assist in budget planning to enhance productivity and profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cargo Operations and Sales.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills & Competencies
- Certified knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations and Advanced Load Control (valid/previous licenses preferred).
- Strong understanding of the local cargo market and environment.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email).
- Fluency in English and Arabic (mandatory).
- Valid driving license.
